In our vineyards in october...

The grape harvest ended on 7th october. It lasted 12 days on our property. The grape harvest were exceptional due to the quantity and the quality of the grapes.

In our cellars in october...

After having been cut, the garpes were pressed. From the grapes we extract the juice. From 8000kg of grapes, we get approximately 51Hl of juice

Tuns of champagne Prat
- Tuns -
During the harvest, we initiated the first alcoholic fermentation. We added yeast that ate the sugar and transformed it into alcohol.

L'actualité principale de septembre c'est bien sûr la préparation des vendanges. C'est la période de l'année la plus importante pour nous. Elle vient récompenser un an de travail parfois difficile mais toujours passionnant dans les vignes et elle est le prélude d'années de patience en caves pour que le vin nouveau prenne toute sa maturité.
Les vendanges 2004 ont débuté le 26 septembre.

In september, we have received our new press. With this one, you can press 6000kg of grapes.

On the 21st June, we have proceeded to the champagnisation.

The wine of the vintage 2003 has been filled into the bottles during the last week of april. We predict this will be a great champagne but you will have to wait at least 18 months before tasting it.

Vines with grapes - 30 may 2004 The grapes have appeared in quantity and we can hope of a fruitful vintage.

Nethertheless, all depends on the weather : Sunniness and temperatures can change everything until september.

In June, we have done the raising.

The wine of the vintage 2003 has been filled into the bottles during the last week of april. We predict this will be a great champagne but you will have to wait at least 18 months before tasting it.

Launching of the website :

We have launch our website on March 1st 2004 to allow our customers to better discover our champagnes and our work.

Opening of an subsidiary in England:

We have just created a subsidiary to promote our champagne in England. We propose our champagne under the trademark Georges de la Chapelle.
